SEATTLE -- April 22, 2013

The International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT) is now offering a
new Software Engineering degree program at its Seattle campus. Designed to
provide a multi-disciplinary education, the degree focuses on creativity,
business and communication, as well as technology. Students in the program can
develop the technical skills and business knowledge needed to design, develop
and test software solutions in the workplace.

This bachelor’s degree in software engineering extends beyond the technical
foundation of traditional computer development. Students also can focus on
creative thinking, communication and business principles to gain a
comprehensive understanding of software engineering. Many of the instructors
at IADT have industry experience, giving students access to real-world
knowledge.

“This program provides an opportunity for students who have a desire to pursue
a career in the ever-changing computer industry, which continues to serve the
needs of the business community,” said Khaled Sakalla, IADT-Seattle campus
president. “Software Engineering students at IADT-Seattle will have the
opportunity to put their skills to the test by working on industry-relevant
projects with industry professionals.” Students also may practice their skills
by finding an internship, for which they can receive school credit.

The software engineering courses offered at IADT-Seattle can help students
develop a multi-disciplinary skillset. Students can learn programming
languages such as HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, C++, and C# as well as skills in
application security, software testing, and business analysis. Each course
aims to build student communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving
skills, which are applied across all areas of software engineering.
