has announced that it will honor National Nurses Week this year by offering a
$3,000 corporate alliance grant to eligible enrollees of its CCNE-accredited**
nursing programs, as well as a free webcast for nurses worth one contact hour
towards continuing education (CE) credit***. This year, National Nurses Week
is being celebrated May 6-12, with “Delivering Quality and Innovation in
Patient Care” as the 2013 theme.

“As a recent report from the Institute of Medicine and the Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation made clear, there’s never been a greater need for nurse leaders,”
said Capella’s director of nursing and health care, Lonnie Wederski, PhD, MSN,
MBA, RN. “In honor of National Nurses Week, we wanted to make it easier for
nurses to increase their leadership skills. We’re presenting a free 60-minute
on-demand webcast available to all interested nurses. And for those wanting to
further develop their leadership skills, we’re offering a $3,000 grant to
nurses who enroll in one of our BSN, MSN, or DNP programs by August 5 and who
are members or employees of one of our hundreds of corporate alliance

Capella Nurses Week webcast features health care experts speaking on
Capella’s free webcast, titled “Capella Nurses Week Coalition: Preparing Nurse
Leaders to Drive Innovation in Health Care,” is a 60-minute, on-demand webcast
featuring a panel of health care experts who explore how nurse leaders can
drive innovation in health care access and quality. The discussion is
moderated by Dr. Wederski and panelists include:

Employees or members of Capella corporate alliance partners are eligible for a
$3,000 Nurses Week Alliance Grant when they enroll as new students and begin
one of Capella’s CCNE-accredited nursing programs by August 5, 2013. The grant
can be combined with available alliance discounts to make the degree even more

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) focused on administrative, organizational,
and systems leadership in the nursing field; a CCNE-accredited MSN program
with specializations in General Nursing,  Nursing Leadership and
Administration,  Nurse Educator, Gerontology Nursing, and Diabetes Nursing,
and RN-to-MSN specializations in Diabetes Nursing,  Gerontology Nursing, 
Nurse Educator,  Nursing Leadership and Administration, and General Nursing; 
and  a CCNE-accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
