Kratos Named HITRUST Common Security Framework Assessor

Will Assist Healthcare Organizations to Mitigate Cybersecurity Risk and Comply
With HIPAA Omnibus Regulations

SAN DIEGO, April 17, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kratos Defense & Security
Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions
provider, announced today that its SecureInfo cybersecurity group has been
designated by the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) as a Common
Security Framework (CSF) Assessor. The HITRUST CSF is the healthcare
industry's widely adopted cybersecurity framework that reconciles and
harmonizes the requirements of existing standards and regulations, including
healthcare (HIPAA, HITECH), third party (PCI, COBIT) and government (NIST,
FTC).

The healthcare industry is experiencing a rapid rise in risk for data
breaches, the theft of patient health data, and increasingly complex
regulatory conditions. In this intense environment, Kratos SecureInfo has been
approved by the HITRUST Alliance to perform Common Security Framework
readiness assessments, remediation and certification work to help healthcare
organizations ensure security, privacy and compliance.

HITRUST and its supporting resources, programs and services are aimed at
moving the healthcare industry forward with respect to security controls. CSF
Assessors such as Kratos' SecureInfo are the only organizations approved by
HITRUST to deliver services under the HITRUST CSF Assurance program. Prior to
becoming a CSF Assessor, Kratos' SecureInfo went through an extensive due
diligence process to demonstrate a strong information security practice and
leadership.

"SecureInfo's deep expertise in physical, operational and cybersecurity,
combined with its successful track record in securing cloud environments, make
them an ideal fit for the HITRUST program," said Ken Vander Wal, HITRUST's
Chief Compliance Officer. "We are gratified to have Kratos' SecureInfo as a
CSF Assessor to help healthcare organizations with the process of adopting and
using the CSF's requirements for protecting information."

Kratos' SecureInfo works with healthcare providers, payors, and their business
associates to help manage IT risk and improve their cybersecurity posture.
Each assessment is customized to the unique needs of the client and combines
the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements
and industry best practices. Deliverables include a comprehensive finding and
recommendations report and a full presentation of the results.

"With 20 years of experience in the cybersecurity field, Kratos' SecureInfo's
professionals are well versed in the challenges that today's healthcare
organizations face in meeting increasingly complex compliance requirements as
well as the risks associated with electronic health records, cloud computing
and other new technologies," said Christopher Fountain, Sr. Vice President of
SecureInfo. "Our newly sanctioned role as a HITRUST Assessor combined with our
extensive experience securing cloud computing solutions puts us in a unique
position to support healthcare customers."

Kratos' SecureInfo has completed thousands of cybersecurity assessments and
validations for clients over a span of two decades. Beyond being a HITRUST CSF
Assessor, the company is an accredited Third Party Assessment Organization
(3PAO) under FedRAMP (the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program)
performing security assessments of Cloud Service Providers on behalf of the
U.S. Government; and an independent Agent of the Certifying Authority (ACA)
for the United States Air Force.
