  Flybe Takes Off with QlikView Business Discovery

   Europe’s largest regional airline gains near real-time booking views and

QlikTech (NASDAQ: QLIK) a leader in Business Discovery – user-driven Business
Intelligence (BI), today announced that Flybe, Europe’s largest regional
airline that boasts the UK’s largest market share of domestic flights, has
deployed the QlikView Business Discovery platform for revenue management,
improved business analysis, and fleet performance (punctuality and flight
efficiency). With existing BI tools in place, Flybe was not looking for a
replacement but there was a need for a complementary platform that could
provide more complex and detailed BI analysis of very large datasets.

QlikView allows the airline to gain near real-time data access straight from
its Oracle databases in a five minute process and refreshes data when
concurrent users are accessing and querying it, which is essential in
providing a consistent view across the business. Now with QlikView, Flybe can
monitor sales in near real-time which is crucial for management
decision-making and out of hours access.

QlikView, introduced to Flybe by Aviation Analytics, a consultancy serving the
aviation industry and focused on BI analysis strategies and delivery for
aviation, has quickly created new and detailed views for Flybe and designed an
application that understands the ‘pulse of the business.’ The airline’s
existing in-memory analytical tools could not compete on the same scale and
any upgrade of the existing toolset was not able to deliver the anticipated
return on investment in terms of the level of detail and time efficiencies
required.
