that on Thursday, April 11^th, the company’s chairman, president, and CEO,
James D. White, was invited by the White House to participate in a
teleconference hosted by President Barack Obama. Mr. White was the only CEO on
the call. Mayors George Heartwell of Grand Rapids, MI, Marie Lopez Rogers of
Avondale, AZ and Mark Mallory of Cincinnati, OH shared their summer job
initiatives currently underway in their perspective cities. More than 100
additional mayors, county executives and local leaders also dialed into the
call, where they were encouraged by the President and Mr. White to actively
pursue partnership with members of the business community in order to provide
summer employment to young people.

“I was delighted to have been asked to join the call with the President and
local elected officials from across the country”, said White. “Our success
since 2011 has come from a willingness to be creative in our efforts and our
commitment to partnering with local leaders”.

Mr. White was asked by the President to provide an overview of Jamba’s highly
successful National Hiring Day program as a prime example of how
public/private partnerships can be effective. Now in its 2^nd year, the
National Hiring Day effort has resulted in Jamba providing summer employment
to more than 6,000 applicants since 2011. This year’s hiring efforts will
specifically target disadvantaged and hard to serve communities in cities such
as Chicago, Los Angeles, Oakland/Bay Area and New York City.
