Branding a Province with Facebook


VANCOUVER, April 3, 2013 /CNW/ - Think Saskatchewan Jobs (ThinkSASK) is a campaign focused on recruiting Canadian talent to fill the many high potential career opportunities created by Saskatchewan's booming economy.

For the third year of this hugely successful project, campaign manager Phoenix Group decided to capitalize on Facebook's over 1 billion active user base with compelling results. In order to run such a large-scale Facebook campaign, Phoenix Group needed an effective tool. They turned to Jobcast. Jobcast is a Canadian company with over 13 years' experience in the field of recruiting. Their Facebook app is used by over 11,000 employers to brand Facebook Career Pages and recruit candidates socially. The outcome of this collaboration has been remarkable. As of March 2013, their Facebook Page garnered over 4,807 Likes (250 is industry standard) and had an average weekly reach of over 1.7 million users (notably high when compared to industry standard). Most importantly for job seekers, there are currently more than 10,000 jobs posted on the ThinkSASK Career Page.

Using Facebook, ThinkSASK has been able to make their recruiting efforts more community-driven. Through the social networking platform, they are able to provide job seekers with tips about relocating to Saskatchewan, share what it is like to live in the province, and provide real-time answers to questions they may have. Together, Jobcast and Phoenix Group have been highly effective in helping Canadian job seekers discover the opportunities available to them.
