Minetti is President of Consumer Banking and Operations, responsible for Discover’s Deposits, Personal, Student and Home Loans businesses. “We are pleased to welcome Carlos Minetti to our Board of Directors,” said LFGSM President & CEO John Popoli. “Carlos brings deep insights and experience in areas that are critical to us at the Graduate School. He launched the Deposits and Lending businesses in 2007 and most recently led the acquisitions of the The Student Loan Corporation (NYSE: STU) and the Home Loan Center from Lending Tree, LLC. (NASDAQ: Tree). In addition, he is responsible for firm-wide service delivery, including the cardmember services and processing services functions. Prior to assuming responsibilities for the consumer banking business, Minetti was Discover’s Chief Risk Officer and was directly responsible for managing credit, market and operational risk. Prior to joining Discover in 2001, Minetti served as Senior Vice President of card operations for American Express, most recently managing the company’s largest U.S. operating center in Fort Lauderdale. He also led American Express’s customer service utility, which provides card-related customer servicing for all of the company’s U.S. cardmembers.
