compensation claims. Discussion points include critical issues such as longer
claim duration and higher costs that can occur when opioid use is not
effectively monitored. Andrews and Smith will also discuss how workers'
compensation payers and pharmacy benefit managers should collaborate to
mitigate the prolonged use of opioids and better control injured worker
utilization while significantly reducing drug expenditures.
