Elsevier , a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical
information products and services, today announced that the Medical University
of South Carolina Health System (MUSC) has selected Elsevier's CPM CarePoints
interdisciplinary care planning and clinical documentation solution for its
electronic health record (EHR).

MUSC is one of the nation's top academic health science centers, with a
750-bed medical center (MUSC Health) and six colleges that train more than
3,000 health care professionals per year, virtually all of whom will now have
direct access to Elsevier's CPM content solutions. CPM CarePoints will be
delivered through seamless integration with MUSC's Epic EHR and will support
the hospital's improvements in patient outcomes and transformation of its
clinical practice.

"Our clinical leadership enthusiastically supported collaborating with CPM to
provide clinical content for our implementation of Epic," said Melissa
Forinash, MUSC Epic Program Administrator. "We believe that a focus on
standardization and commitment to evidence-based practice is essential to help
us strategically meet the challenges facing healthcare."

CPM CarePoints provides an all-inclusive framework for implementing
actionable, evidence-based care and documentation tools across all clinical
domains. Designed to offer the latest scientific and clinical guidance on a
wide range of diagnoses, CPM CarePoints can be utilized and referenced by all
clinicians within a hospital setting for practice-specific, expert guidance,
as well as provide the tools they need to document and monitor that care.

"Integrating CPM CarePoints into MUSC will support the center's focus on
providing interdisciplinary care planning, clinical documentation and reliable
clinical practice guidelines," said Michelle Troseth, Executive Vice President
and Chief Professional Practice Officer of Elsevier. "Both MUSC and Elsevier
share the goal of providing superior, evidence-based solutions to clinicians.
We believe our collaboration will strengthen MUSC's quality of care, improve
clinical outcomes and enhance patient safety."
