Laboratorio Varifarma Chooses AP Automation via Esker to Launch Business
MADISON, Wis. -- March 20, 2013
Esker, a recognized authority in document process automation solutions, today
announced it has been selected by Laboratorio Varifarma, an Argentina-based
pharmaceutical company, to fully automate workflow within the company’s
Accounts Payable (AP) process.
The Esker solution, integrated with the Laboratorio Varifarma’s newly adopted
ERP software package (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains), will streamline vendor
invoicing while putting an efficient workflow in place in order to sustain
future business growth. Prior to implementation of the Esker solution,
Laboratorio Varifarma had a fairly outdated AP processing method that required
three full-time staff members to process 500 paper invoices per month while
maneuvering through a tedious maze of manual touch points.
Actionable plans for improvement
The first step the company took to address these manual AP challenges was
adopting a more modern business solution environment — this was achieved by
recently implementing the ERP software package, Microsoft Dynamics GP. “We
were, and still are, moving to a best practice mindset,” said Fernando Casais,
Finance and Administration Manager at Laboratorio Varifarma. “Implementing
this ERP was a big first step. With Esker, our plans are to go to the next
The Esker effect
Laboratorio Varifarma’s improvement initiatives also included finding an
automation solution that could integrate with the new ERP and, as the company
expands, allow for continuous efficiency improvements in the vendor invoicing
process and potentially other business document processes down the road. “As a
small but growing company our No. 1 goal is to keep advancing, and the Esker
solution will allow us to do that,” said Casais. “The system’s touchless
processing functionality is something we’re very excited about in terms of
improving the overall efficiency, productivity and simplicity of our process.”
In terms of productivity, Esker’s automation solution will allow staff members
in charge of posting invoices to focus more of their time and attention on
analysis instead of data entry. On the vendor side, Esker’s Web portal will
allow users to easily check the status of their statements online. Casais
added, “It’s really a win-win for everyone. Esker will allow us to minimize
our staff requirements while making life easier on the customer.”
