Capella University  (http://www.capella.edu), an accredited online university*

for working adults, will host its spring 2013 commencement on March 16 for
more than 700 Capella students who are expected to participate in the event at
the Long Beach, California, Convention Center. As of Dec. 31, 2012, more than
36,000 students were pursuing an online degree at Capella.  The learning and

Addressing the graduates will be Jeannette Walls, journalist and author of the
New York Times best seller The Glass Castle. The memoir details Walls' life
growing up in extreme poverty and describes the obstacles she faced. It has

languages, and was named one of the "Top 10 Books of the Decade" by
Amazon.com.

Capella will host two commencement ceremonies for graduates at the Long Beach
Convention Center:

  *10 a.m. PT - The School of Business and Technology, School of Education,
    and School of Undergraduate Studies
  *2 p.m. PT – The Harold Abel School of Social and Behavioral Sciences and
    the School of Public Service Leadership

Capella will provide a live webcast of the ceremony
(www.capella.edu/watchcommencement) for graduates, family and friends who are
unable to attend in person. Capella holds commencement ceremonies twice each
year: in Minneapolis each summer, and in another major U.S. city each February
or March.
