The award honors the achievements of black professionals nationally. Windross is being recognized for her professional achievements, contributions to the community and for serving as a role model to the next generation of leaders. In her role as a Director of Diversity & Inclusion at IPG, Windross is an integral part of helping IPG achieve its goal of being among the world's most inclusive companies. Her responsibilities include overseeing IPG's annual Climate for Inclusion Survey, which measures employee reactions to company D&I programs; developing and managing a mentoring culture throughout the network; providing support for IPG's Business Resources Groups; fostering relationships with community organizations, colleges and universities and working with IPG agencies to develop tailored D & I solutions. Windross serves on several community boards including the Harlem YMCA. She was recently elected as President of her alumnae association for Montego Bay High School for Girls in Jamaica W.I. Windross recently published her first book, Finally Reid - The Extraordinary Testimonies of An Ordinary Woman. She holds a Masters degree in Organizational Psychology with a concentration in Human Resources Management from Columbia University, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from New York University. These collective efforts are instrumental in inspiring and guiding future leaders amongst the youth and teens of the Harlem community. The proceeds of the event support the Harlem YMCA's Black Achievers in Industry (BAI) Corporate Scholarship Program, which provides direct support to motivated African-American New York City high school students pursuing higher education. To date, the Corporate Scholarship Program has awarded 480 scholarships, or nearly $1.2 million in funds, to supplement educational costs. A goal has been established to award 55 individual $2,500 scholarships in 2013.
