SAN FRANCISCO, March 12, 2013

SAN FRANCISCO, March 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Thirteen percent of chief
financial officers (CFOs) in the San Francisco Bay Area expect to add new
professional-level positions in the second quarter, according to the San
Francisco Bay Area Professional Employment Forecast from Robert Half. Another
71 percent said they will not be adding new positions but will fill roles that
open in the next three months. Fifteen percent of respondents will not be
hiring, even to fill an open position, and no respondents plan to reduce staff

The Professional Employment Forecast was developed by Robert Half, the world's
first and largest specialized staffing firm. The survey was conducted by an
independent research firm and is based on interviews with more than 100 CFOs
from the San Francisco Bay Area at companies with 20 or more employees who
were asked about their hiring plans for professional-level positions in the
coming quarter.

CFOs were asked, "What are your company's hiring plans for full-time
professional-level employees in the second quarter?" Their responses:

Expanding -- adding new positions 13%
Maintaining -- only filling vacated positions 71%
Freezing -- not filling vacated positions or creating new ones 15%
Reducing -- eliminating positions 0%
Don't know/no answer 1%

"Many companies that are increasing their personnel levels seek technology,
accounting and finance professionals with cross-industry experience and strong
interpersonal skills to help them grow their business," said Sharon Black,
senior district president with Robert Half in the San Francisco Bay Area. "As
the San Francisco Bay Area economy improves and new opportunities emerge,
skilled candidates are becoming harder to find. Companies concerned about
keeping their top performers and attracting new ones are sweetening the pot by
offering flexible benefits and creative employee perks."
