GRAND RAPIDS,Mich., March 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Students from two high
schools in Grand Rapids will visit Farmers Insurance on March 5 and 6 to get a
hands-on look at how claims are adjusted by a leading insurance company.

The visits are part of the Junior Achievement program at Northview and Union
High Schools. Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes is among the
nation's top 19 largest JA chapters, dedicated to educating students about
workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through real life
hands-on programs.

"When they arrive, we will split the students into three groups to rotate
through three sessions on Farmers claims operations," said Tom Johnson, HR
Specialist, Farmers Specialty Group. "The students will be placed in our new
state-of-the-art teaching labs and learn about claims procedures from Farmers
claims professionals. We will make the experience a true look at how a leading
insurance company processes claims from start to finish."

"Providing Greater Grand Rapids-area high school students with the opportunity
to explore career options, experience workplace etiquette, and learn the value
of education through Junior Achievement are the main objectives of what JA
calls job shadow programs," said William C. Coderre, III CFRE, president of
Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes.
