TORONTO, March 1, 2013 /CNW/ - In an 11 to one vote, Toronto-native Kat Yee
became the first houseguest to be evicted from the Big Brother Canada house in
Thursday night's eviction episode on Slice( TM).
The 27-year-old, known for her tomboy athleticism and infectious smile, lost
out to Emmett Blois, a dairy farmer from Gore, Hants County, Nova Scotia.
"Being the first person out is better than being second, third or fourth. Now
I'll be remembered as the first person ever evicted from Big Brother Canada,"
said Kat Yee, appearing unsurprised at the house's decision.
In the series premiere, Suzette Amaya became the first ever Head of Household
(HOH) on Big Brother Canada. She was immediately tasked with nominating two
houseguests for eviction based on first impressions, and selected Emmett Blois
and Tom Plant based on their impressive physical strength. Nominated
houseguest Tom prevailed in the first Power of Veto (POV) challenge, removing
himself from the chopping block and requiring HOH Suzette to nominate another
houseguest for eviction - Kat.
In a special twist, host Arisa Cox was joined by one of Big Brother USA's
greats, Dan Gheesling. He shared his early favourite houseguests, Aneal
Ramkissoon and Peter Brown for their savvy strategy. Dan also offered a key
piece of advice to the houseguests - lay low and let the louder houseguests
target each other.
The episode closed on the very first ever Head of Household endurance battle,
called "Lumberjack and Jill", where the houseguests are left clinging to trees
for dear life in the house's back yard. Tune in Sunday night at 9 pm ET/PT to
find out who hangs in the longest to be crowned the next HOH.
