School Sport Canada Names Nike High School Grand Prix Participants 
24 teams across Canada selected to compete in second annual high school track 
and field event 
TORONTO, Feb. 26, 2013 /CNW/ - Over 280 high school track and field student 
athletes from across the country have been selected to lace up their spikes in 
celebration of sport, culture and youth. Today, School Sport Canada announced 
the 24 teams selected to participate in the Nike High School Grand Prix, the 
first Canadian invitational track and field event for high school athletes, 
now in its second year. The 2013 Nike High School Grand Prix will be held on 
May 9-12 in Toronto. 
The Nike High School Grand Prix brings high school student athletes, coaches, 
teachers, families and friends together to celebrate the sport of track and 
field. One male and one female high school level team from 12 provinces and 
territories have been selected based on merits of sportsmanship, excellence in 
sport, dedication to academics and school spirit. Participants will attend 
social events throughout the weekend, including Nike athlete panels, 
sightseeing tours of Toronto and an awards banquet.

School Grand Prix is an amazing opportunity for Canadian track and field 
student athletes to come together to develop new skills, make new friends and 
have the experience of a lifetime." 
The Nike High School Grand Prix track meet will be held at the University of 
Toronto's Varsity Stadium. Track and field events include: 100m, 200m, 400m, 
800m, 1500m run, 110m hurdles (boys), 100m hurdles (girls), long jump, high 
jump, shot-put, and the 4 x 100m cross-provincial relay.

British Columbia: West Point Grey Academy (Girls Team) from Vancouver, BC and 
Penticton Secondary School from Penticton, BC. 
Alberta: Cochrane High School (Girls Team) from Cochrane, AB and Airdrie 
Koinonia Christian School (Boys Team) from Airdrie, AB 
Saskatchewan: St. Mary High School (Girls Team) from Prince Albert, SK and A. 
E. Peacock Collegiate (Boys Team) from Moose Jaw, SK 
Manitoba: Kelvin High School (Girls Team) from Winnipeg, MB and Neepawa Area 
Collegiate (Boys Team) from Neepawa, MB 
Ontario: École Secondaire Catholique Theriault (Girls Team) from Timmins, 
ON and Marshall McLuhan Catholic Secondary School (Boys Team) - Toronto, ON
