ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code:
000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment,
network solutions and mobile devices today announced that it has successfully
deployed an LTE network for multinational telecoms operator Telenor in

The first phase of the network covers 76 towns in Hungary and highlights that
Telenor Hungary’s Hypernet high-speed data services strategy has reached a new
milestone and has laid a solid foundation for Telenor Hungary’s ambitious plan
for a ‘digital Hungary’.

ZTE provided Uni-RAN total network solutions based on SDR technology for the
project. The customized mode 2T2R RRU for LTE deployment provided flexibility
and helped achieve smooth spectrum reforming to provide LTE services in
1800MHz frequency without increasing the RF module, meeting the different
stages of Telenor Hungary’s network construction needs.

The Hungarian subsidiary of Telenor was established in 1994, and is wholly
owned by Telenor. After ten years of operation, Telenor Hungary already has
3.6 million users, and is the second largest mobile operator in Hungary.

"ZTE is very pleased to launch the LTE/DC-HSPA+ nationwide network with
Telenor Hungary, and to help Telenor Hungary modernise its national network.
ZTE’s leading Uni-RAN solution supports network multimode convergence and
smooth evolution, and makes the deployment, recombination and optimisation of
the network more simple, intelligent and efficient. The solution fully meets
the operator’s need for an intelligent network management system," said Xu
Ziyang, vice president, ZTE.

ZTE has worked with Telenor Hungary for a number of years to construct its
GSM/UMTS/LTE three mode four band network. At the end of 2011, ZTE and Telenor
Hungary jointly launched the first nationwide DC-HSPA+ mobile broadband
network. In the first quarter of 2012, Telenor Hungary’s pretax income and
ARPU per user value showed the first signs of growth following the economic

“For the first time in a long while, this quarter we can report an increase in
voice and non-voice revenues alike,” said Christopher Laska, CEO, Telenor
Hungary. “The current improvement demonstrates not only the attractiveness of
our commercial offers, but also the quality of our new network. We are very
proud that due to last year’s very fast network modernisation program, we are
now in a position to offer high-quality mobile internet services. In addition,
we also enhanced the quality of our voice services. These improvements are
appreciated by both our existing and new clients alike.”

As of the end of 2012, ZTE had obtained 45 LTE commercial contracts globally,
helping China Mobile, SoftBank, Telenor, TeliaSonera, Bharti, Hutchison,
Telstra, and other advanced global operators to successfully construct LTE
commercial networks. ZTE has also deployed LTE trial networks with more than
110 operators.
