RETIREMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

GKN plc announces that John Sheldrick will retire as non-executive Director at the conclusion of the AGM on 2 May 2013. He will be succeeded as Chairman of the Audit Committee by Shonaid Jemmett-Page, non-executive Director, with effect from the same date.

The Board would like to record their thanks to John Sheldrick for the valuable contribution he has made since joining the Board in 2004.
