Daily Mail and General Trust plc (`DMGT')

                       2006 Executive Share Option Scheme                       


Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority (UKLA) and to the London
Stock Exchange for a total of 250,000 'A' Ordinary Non-Voting shares of 12½
pence each to be admitted to the Official List.

It is expected that admission will be granted on Tuesday 26 February 2013.

These shares are being reserved under a block listing and will be issued
pursuant to the DMGT 2006 Executive Share Option Scheme.

When issued, these shares will rank pari passu with the existing 'A' Ordinary
Non-Voting shares.
