Multinational Retailer Gives Additional Support to Alzheimer's care, support
and research

CHICAGO, Feb. 19, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --Today, the Alzheimer's
Association announced a multi-year pledge of $1 million from The TJX
Companies, Inc., in recognition of the massive impact of Alzheimer's disease
worldwide. This is the second $1 million gift from TJX on behalf of its
168,000 Associates and retail division including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls,
HomeGoods and Sierra Trading Post in the United States; Winners, HomeSense,
and Marshalls in Canada; and T.K. Maxx, and HomeSense in Europe.

Since 2011, the Company has shown great support in the fight to end
Alzheimer's by having their corporate headquarters building in Framingham,
Mass., lit with purple lights to raise awareness for World Alzheimer's Month.
That same year TJX became a National Team Member of Walk to End Alzheimer's.
As part of the new pledge, TJX has been recognized as the Presenting Sponsor
of the Promise Garden, which serves as the emotional centerpiece of the
Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's^® events around the country.

In addition to these activities, in March 2013, Marshalls stores in the U.S.
will conduct a 'Give a Dollar' campaign, allowing customers to join their
efforts and make a donation in support of the Alzheimer's Association upon
checkout at stores.

TJX Chief Executive Officer, Carol Meyrowitz, stated, "I am so pleased that
TJX's support of the Alzheimer's Association will continue as they strive to
fulfill their vision of a world without Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's painfully
affects millions of people, not only those who suffer from the disease, but
their families and caregivers. It has been two years since we announced our
global partnership with the Alzheimer's Association and during that time, so
many of our Associates have taken the time to share their personal stories
with me. We are optimistic that other companies will join us in our support of
this important cause and that fewer people will suffer from the impact of this
terminal disease."

"We applaud the TJX Companies for their ongoing commitment to advance the
mission of the Alzheimer's Association. In the United States alone, there are
more than five million people living with Alzheimer's disease and more than 15
million caregivers," said Angela Geiger, chief strategy officer for the
Alzheimer's Association. "Our efforts to help all affected and advance
Alzheimer's research is made possible through generous support of companies
like TJX and people in communities who participate in fundraising campaigns
and events that support the Association."
