Sycamore Networks Solutions, Inc., a Marlin Equity Partners portfolio company,
announced today that KORAIL, South Korea’s national railway operator, has
selected the Sycamore DNX multiservice cross-connect platform to scale its
critical communications infrastructure. The DNX solution, sold through
Sycamore’s local partners Digicom and WooriNet, enables KORAIL to
cost-effectively consolidate diverse traffic types and support
mission-critical signaling and control traffic on a highly compact and
resilient switching platform.

The KORAIL nationwide deployment will include the DNX-11 and DNX-88 systems.
The DNX- 11, the fundamental building block of the DNX platform, provides
traffic grooming and concentration from DS0 to OC-3/STM-1 levels, with
integrated test access and diagnostics and optional integrated circuit/packet
processing. The DNX-88 scales to hundreds of T1/E1 ports to support seamless
network expansion and cost-effective transition from circuit to packet
services. KORAIL will rely on the Sycamore solution to support non-stop
availability of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and
other real-time control and command traffic that plays a critical role in the
delivery of the company’s industry-leading railway services across the
country.
