                 Tenth Consecutive Year of Dividend Increases

Compass Minerals (NYSE:CMP) announced today that its board of directors has
increased the company’s quarterly dividend by 10percent to $0.545 per share
effective with its dividend payable March 15, 2013, to shareholders of record
as of the close of business on March 1, 2013.
