GKN Sinter Metals to Display New Innovative Materials at Strategies in Light
AUBURN HILLS, MI -- (Marketwire) -- 02/11/13 -- GKN Sinter Metals
will be exhibiting at the Strategies in Light conference, February
12-14th in Santa Clara, California.
GKN Sinter Metals plans to highlight its new Thermal Series of
sintered aluminum materials with the capability of 50% higher thermal
conductivity over traditional materials (245 vs. 160 W/(mK)). GKN's
innovative process also allows for greater design freedom vs.
conventional die cast and extruded products, while eliminating the
need for machining. GKN's Thermal Series materials raise the bar for
heat sink and other heat reduction applications by also removing the
need for anodizing due to its excellent corrosion resistance.
"GKN is a strong player in the automotive industry and we are excited
to take our next generation Heat sink material into the immensely
evolving LED market and the ever growing Solid State Lighting. We are
absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to display our technology
at the Strategies in Light Conference. This is the best platform we
can ask for." Karl Pfluke, Regional Product and Process Center
