Jersey Central Power & Light Announcing Preparations for Nor'easter
MORRISTOWN, N.J., Feb. 7, 2013
Additional FirstEnergy Crews Arriving Tonight
Morristown, N.J. – Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) President Don Lynch
will speak to the media in Dover, New Jersey, Friday, February 8, at 10 a.m.
to discuss the company's preparations for the nor'easter.
Up to a foot of wet, heavy snow and high winds are expected to hit parts of
JCP&L's northern New Jersey service territory tomorrow and Saturday. In some
locations, up to 15 inches of snow is expected.

All available JCP&L crews and support personnel will work around-the-clock, as
needed, to restore service if customers are affected by the severe weather.
They will be assisted by more than 100 crews and additional support personnel
from FirstEnergy's Ohio Edison, The Illuminating Company and Toledo Edison
utilities. The additional crews are expected to arrive in New Jersey this
The FirstEnergy crews include both hazard and line crews, which serve two
separate functions. Hazard crews are assigned to make areas safe during hazard
conditions, such as securing downed wires. Line crews make repairs that
restore service. Tree crews also will be available for storm restoration work.
The additional FirstEnergy crews are being dispatched to JCP&L line shops in
Dover in Morris County and Newton in Sussex County, where the snow is
predicted to be the most severe.
