National Technical Systems Partners with Emerson Network Power To Support Commercial EMC Test Laboratory Operations PR Newswire Feb. 5 Additional Arizona Facility Continues Company Expansion in Southwest Region CALABASAS, Calif., Feb. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --National Technical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTSC) (NTS), a leading provider of testing and engineering services, announced today it has entered a partnership agreement with Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson and the global leader in protecting and optimizing critical infrastructure, to provide a wide range of commercial testing and regulatory Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) compliance services for product manufacturers. The partnership calls for NTS to oversee operations at Emerson's Network Power internal product testing laboratory in Tempe, AZ. Through the NTS-Emerson partnership, the Tempe, AZ test lab, which was previously used for Emerson's internal testing needs only, will initially be open to outside product manufacturers for purposes of EMC testing services provided by NTS. The partnership provides for further expansion of the test laboratory in the future, including additional testing and certification services such as Product Safety and Environmental/Dynamics testing services. "The partnership with Emerson provides us with an excellent opportunity to expand our service offerings and bandwidth for the important and growing customer base in the Southwest region while complementing NTS' current Tempe presence," said NTS President and CEO William McGinnis. "We look forward to a long and mutually profitable relationship working with our partners at Emerson in Tempe." In addition to the commercial testing partnership, NTS and Emerson have also achieved certification of the Emerson lab for the Verizon NEBS Testing Certification Witnessing Program (TCWP), enabling the lab to test and certify equipment for usage in the Verizon telecom network. This new GR1089 capability provides direct support for approval of Emerson's own line of telecom equipment as well as that of other telecom equipment manufacturers in the region. NTS currently operates more Verizon-certified test laboratories than any other company in the world. "As one of the pioneers of integrated, application-ready ATCA systems, we are proud to be able to offer this new level of service to our customers and help them gain competitive advantage by trusting Emerson and NTS as their partner," said Brian Brown, vice president and general manager of marketing and services for Emerson Network Power's Embedded Computing business. "This certification underlines our unrivalled depth and breadth of experience and expertise in telecom platforms. Having demonstrated this competence in NEBS testing, we are continuing to invest in R&D and other initiatives that help our customers get to market faster, with less risk and a differentiated product."
