ESTIMATED INCREASE IN PROFIT FOR THE
ANNUAL RESULTS OF 2012
This announcement is made by Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd.
(the "Company") pursuant to the Inside Information Provisions under
Part XIVA of the SFO, Rules 13.09(2)(a) and 13.10(B) of the Listing Rules to
provide shareholders of the Company and the public with the financial
information of the Company. This announcement is also disseminated on the
Shanghai Stock Exchange simultaneously. The estimates referred to in this
announcement are only preliminary estimates made by the Company and have not
been audited by any certified public accountants. Detailed financial
information of the Company will be disclosed in the 2012 annual report of
the Company. Investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the
shares of the Company.

This announcement is made by the Company pursuant to the Inside Information
Provisions (as defined under the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities
on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the "Listing Rules"), under
Part XIVA of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Cap. 571, Laws of Hong
Kong) (the "SFO") and Rules 13.09(2)(a) and 13.10(B) of the Listing Rules.
I. Estimated results for the reporting period
1. Period to which the estimated results apply: From 1 January 2012 to
31 December 2012.
2. Estimated results: According to the preliminary estimates made by the
Company, net profit attributable to the equity holders of the
Company as reported on the consolidated statements of the Company for
year 2012 is expected to increase by 105%-115% as compared to the
corresponding period of the previous year.
3. The figures of the estimated results have not been audited by any
certified public accountants.
II. Results of the corresponding period of the previous year
1. Net profit attributable to the equity holders of the Company as
reported in the consolidated statements in 2011: Approximately
2. Basic earnings per share in 2011: RMB0.1481 per share.
III. Reasons for the change in the results
The prominent increase in profit for the results in 2012 was mainly
attributable to the following reasons:
1. Decrease in fuel costs due to timely adjustments made by the Company
to the fuel procurement strategy according to market conditions;
2. Increase in revenues from core business due to the increase in
average on-grid tariff when compared with the corresponding period
of the previous year;
3. Increase in investment income attributable to the implementation of
active capital operation by the Company.

The estimated results for the reporting period are only preliminary
estimates made by the Company. The detailed and precise financial
information of the Company shall be based on the audited 2012 annual
report which is to be officially disclosed by the Company. Investors are
