Mediastation: Small UK company has an important role in American Airlines re-brand Business Wire LONDON -- January 24, 2013 One of the most high profile brands in the US, American Airlines, last week launched its first re-brand for 40 years in Dallas Texas and chose a small UK creative agency, Mediastation, based in Guildford, Surrey, to help them. Mediastation produced imagery for brochures, posters, interactive online, 3D cinemas and touchscreens. However, one of the most challenging requirements was a video featuring American Airlines’ new 777-300 flagship aircraft. The video needed to show it in service and painted in the new livery, long before the plane was ready to be filmed. Mediastation used state-of-the-art computer graphics to bring the aircraft to life and 'virtually' put it in-service. The resulting film was sent to 65 million of American Airlines’ customers and was the vehicle used to present the re-brand to the world. The re-brand was organised by American Airline's team of Marketing Strategists headed up by Alice Curry, Managing Director, Advertising, Promotions, and Product Marketing. She explained why American chose Mediastation to help bolster the creative resources. “This was the launch of the New American brand. The CGI material for our flagship aircraft formed the basis of our online brand reveal. It was therefore important that we used the best creative team we could find, wherever they happened to be based. The end result gives me goose bumps every time I watch it.” Mediastation’s worldwide reputation for quality, speed of response, value for money and innovation has grown very quickly over the last 12 months and resulted in a 200% growth in revenue in 2012 with the same predicted for 2013. In addition to being fast tracked to become a key supplier for American Airlines Mediastation’s clients have included Intel, Disney, Royal Bank of Canada, Panasonic, Reuters and they even created the Wizarding World of Harry Potter TV Commercial that uses CGI to make it feel like viewers are actually riding a broomstick through Hogwarts with Harry himself. BAE Systems are also major clients and Keith Jackson their Exhibitions & Events manager recently said of the company; “The secret is out, Mediastation are quite simply, one of the best little creative teams in the world.” Doug Fidler, Mediastation’s Chief Creative Officer said, “We’re working with some of the most respected and high profile brands in the world today but we still felt very excited to be involved with the rebrand of such an iconic brand as American Airlines. We’re delighted that they’re so happy with the end result. ” Lord Green, UK Minister of State for Trade and Investment said: "This is an excellent result which shows that small, innovative UK companies can compete on the world stage at the very highest level. The UK's design sector is highly professional and results-focused, with a strong track record in delivering design-based services to national and international commercial partners. This sector is mature and experienced and has a professional infrastructure that supports and nurtures a very high level of creativity." Mediastation’s Chairman, Chris Searson concluded: “Mediastation strive to not only push the boundaries creatively but also really understand the business need. There are some very exciting times ahead for the company.” ….Ends… Notes to Editors Mediastation are one of the UK's top production companies.
