Danone's Silhouette yogurt line takes innovative turn in new weight management paradigm

Danone's Silhouette yogurt line takes innovative turn in new weight management
paradigm
Goodbye self-deprivation, hello pure enjoyment!
MONTREAL, Jan. 22, 2013 /CNW/ - More and more, women have started to question
diet gimmicks and the need to deprive themselves of certain foods. Instead,
women have become increasingly receptive to messages about health and, above
all, the pleasure of eating. In this time of changing attitudes towards weight
management, Danone is proud to announce its newly redesigned Silhouette
product line, including a new flagship product, Silhouette Greek yogurt - with
no added sugar and twice the protein((1)), it has only 50 calories per 100 g
serving. With its recent revamp, the Silhouette yogurt line is now gelatine
free, with no artificial flavours or colors.
A new wave in weight management
Women are now looking at weight management from a more constructive and
permissive view. While many of them are still not satisfied with their weight,
they want to shift the focus away from losing weight, at all costs, in favour
of striking a balance between eating right and eating enjoyably. These savvy
women are looking for more natural, nutrient-dense products with fewer empty
calories. They are becoming more aware of the key role that protein plays in
satiety, weight management and muscle recovery. This is particularly important
when it comes to finding nutritious foods for snack-time or after
training.((2,3))
The new Silhouette Greek yogurt: compatible with the needs of women
The new Silhouette Greek yogurt is distinct from other yogurts on the market
because it contains no added sugar while still offering all the
characteristics of a high-protein Greek yogurt. As Danone Marketing Director
Catherine Fortier points out, "Silhouette Greek has an enviable nutritional
profile with 50 calories per serving and half of those calories coming from
protein." It comes as no surprise that nearly 90% of the women who tested the
product enjoyed it and recognized that Danone's Silhouette Greek would help
them maintain a healthy weight.((4)) The stirred Silhouette Greek yogurt has a
rich and creamy texture, and comes in five delicious flavours: Vanilla Twist,
Strawberry Kiss, Refreshing Apple, Tropical Delight and Berry-licious.
Consumers can now nourish both body and soul with a healthy product that is
deliciously thick, creamy and sure to satisfy.
The new face of Silhouette
Inspired by women across Canada, Danone's completely redesigned Silhouette
yogurt line meets female consumers' expectations and needs better than ever
before. The redesigned Silhouette yogurt line still has no fat or added
sugar—but now contains no aspartame, gelatin, or artificial colours or
flavours. It boasts a creamy texture, offering the perfect blend of pleasure
and healthfulness. "With this reinvented line, Danone is ready to join women
consumers in this new wave, which represents a profound shift in our society's
attitudes towards weight management. The new line has a fresh new packaging
and will be available in grocery stores across Canada starting on January 28,
2013", concludes Catherine Fortier.
