MapR Announces European Leadership Team Former Isilon and IBM executive to help meet growing demand for enterprise grade Hadoop Business Wire SAN JOSE, Calif. -- January 16, 2013 MapR Technologies, Inc., the Hadoop technology leader, today announced Steve Jenkins as its first VP for EMEA to lead its new European operation that launched in December of 2012. Jenkins, an experienced senior executive, has previously led European operations for Q1 Labs (acquired by IBM), Isilon Systems (acquired by EMC) and F5 Networks. During his career spanning over 20 years, Jenkins also guided the successful creation, growth and expansion of robust European market presence for Nortel Networks, Bay Networks and Wellfleet. “Demand for Hadoop is growing at a phenomenal rate across Europe and I welcome the opportunity to help MapR deliver technical and sales resources to support and grow both our channel and client base across the region,” Jenkins added. The new MapR European headquarters will be based in London, England and will initially support partners across the region. MapR has also appointed Zeljko Dodlek as sales director who joins the team following executive roles at RedHat, DataDirect Networks, Isilon Systems and NetApp. Dodlek is based in Munich, Germany and will primarily cover the DACH region.
