LONDON, Jan. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Stella McCartney will unveil her first
collection of optical eyewear in March 2013. Drawing inspiration from the
designer's signature balance between masculine and feminine, the collection
introduces contemporary and cutting-edge styles that embrace the
'eco-friendly' philosophy of the brand. The line features five styles in key
shapes referencing a warm colour palette of burgundy, taupe, black, teal and
tortoise including light and spotty versions of the classic shade. The subtle
yet recognizable signature step temple is dialled up with gold, silver and
tonal accents fusing the new optical with the existing range of sunglasses,
which launched in 2003.

The sustainable optical collection features the same bio-acetate used in the
sunglasses range, which are made of 54% natural sources. The product's formula
combines cellulose, the most common organic compound on Earth, which is
renewable and biodegradable, together with natural plasticizers, which differ
from DEP (Diethyl Phthalate), as they derive from citric acid, a natural
substance obtained through a fermentation process.

The optical collection will be available from March 2013 in high-end retailers
and opticians worldwide. The prices will range from £149 to £157 in the UK,
€180 to €190 in Europe and $230 to $245 in the US.

SM2001
Ultra round shaped bio-acetate frame that features a thin contour line and
keyhole bridge offering a balance between a contemporary and vintage look. The
style is complete with a thin step temple on which the logo elegantly appears
in of gold and silver. Available in burgundy, tortoise, spotty tortoise and
black.

SM2002
This classic vintage frame is detailed with rounded edges to provide a
stylised comfortable fit. The square silhouette is paired with Stella
McCartney's thin distinctive step design temples. Colours include black,
taupe, dark tortoise and spotty tortoise and is available in two sizes for a
perfect fit.

SM2003
A thick, rectangular bio-acetate front gives this model a unique and timeless
feel. Large temples feature the laser engraved logo on silver or gold
hardware. The style is available in two sizes and offered in muted tones of
blue, tortoise, dark tortoise and black staying true to the Stella's signature
colour palette.

SM2004
Retro inspired, square shape acetate model emphasized by a bold contrast
between the thin frame and the thick temples highlighting the logo on metallic
hardware. Available in two sizes, in a dark tortoise, light tortoise and taupe
with gold hardware and in black with silver hardware.

SM2005
Iconic wide curved square frame front is sculpted with a distinctive keyhole
bridge and large acetate temples inlaid with the Stella McCartney logo for an
ultra feminine profile. Available in a range of colours including dark
tortoise, taupe gradient, light tortoise and black.
