Staples Associates Direct $252,500 in Community Grants Across Europe
Associates Choose Non-profit organizations to Benefit from Staples Foundation
AMSTERDAM -- December 20, 2012
Staples, the world’s largest office products company and second largest
internet retailer, today announced the charity recipients of 38 grants funded
by the Staples Foundation, the private charitable arm of the company. The
grants are part of a new philanthropic initiative created by Staples
Foundation which allows Staples associates around the world to direct funding
to non-profit organizations.
Across Europe alone, 13 charities will receive grants funded by the Staples
Foundation totaling $252,500. The program generated more than 2600 votes from
Staples associates across European countries.

the globe, and our new Staples Foundation program offers our associates and
customers a voice in how we achieve this. Together, we are dedicated to

The new program, called 2 Million & Change, is just one example of Staples
commitment to the communities in which the company’s associates live and work,
and is part of its overall approach to corporate social responsibility. The 2
Million & Change program is awarding additional funds to organizations around
the world, reaching more than $2 million in grants for the year.
