“Intersections” Speaking Series with Top Local Executives
Executives from the Minnesota Vikings, Sun Country Airlines and UnitedHealth
Group will join academic leaders from St. Thomas for free speaking event that
examines emerging business ideas and practices

MINNEAPOLIS -- December 20, 2012
The University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business announced today that its
“Intersections” speaking series is returning for a second year. Top executives
representing the Minnesota Vikings, Sun Country Airlines and UnitedHealth
Group will take the stage with leading academics to discuss important and
emerging business issues and related best practices. The events will feature
strategic insights on a range of topics including sports and brand management,
business strategy and health care policy and reform. Each hour-long event,
which is free to the general public, will be held at Opus College’s Schulze
Hall auditorium, 1000 LaSalle Avenue in downtown Minneapolis. Nearby parking
is available.
“After a successful season last year, we’re excited to bring back
‘Intersections.’ We’re fortunate to live in the Twin Cities, where so many
corporations are fostering innovation and leadership in their fields,” said
Christopher Puto, dean and Opus Distinguished Chair for the Opus College of
Business. “By linking top practitioners and academia, we can make a difference
and build upon our local knowledge economy.”
To kick off the series, Professor John Sailors will team up with Steve
LaCroix, vice president of sales and marketing and CMO for the Minnesota
Vikings. In a conversational format, they’ll share their thoughts on
“Intersections in Brand Management” on Wednesday, January 23. The formal
program, which includes time for a Q&A, will take place from 6 – 7 p.m. and a
networking reception will begin at 5 p.m.
