Women On Board Publishes 2nd Edition of Women On Board Source

The Source for 60+ Exceptional Women Corporate Board Candidates
VANCOUVER, Dec. 10, 2012 /CNW/ - Women On Board announced today the
publication of the 2(nd) Edition of Women On Board Source, a searchable,
online listing now featuring over 60 qualified women corporate board
candidates for appointment in Canada.
Women On Board Source helps boards and search firms find and connect with
highly qualified women corporate board candidates. The 60+ women featured in
Women On Board Source were nominated and then selected for participation in
the Women On Board Mentoring Program because of their strong candidacy for
corporate board service. They are top executives and professionals across
Canada, each with an impressive depth of experience in their industry. Many
have expertise in areas like accounting, executive compensation, legal and
regulatory requirements, investment management, risk management, venture
capital, and more. All of them are experienced board members having served on
various types of corporate boards, committees, and non-profit boards. As part
of their participation in the mentoring program, the women are mentored by
prominent Board Chairs or CEOs who help them achieve their goal of attaining a
corporate board appointment by advising them and advocating for them.
"I have spent time getting to know my mentee, so I know what she is capable of
and how she can add value to a board. She is an exceptional board candidate. I
can vouch for that," said Rick George, Director, Royal Bank of Canada, Former
President and CEO, Suncor Energy, and mentor to Fiona Macdonald, Managing
Director, Executive Compensation, Canada and US West, Towers Watson.
Each Director Profile in Women On Board Source provides a one-page synopsis of
the candidate's employment, education, skills, industry and international
experience, key accomplishments, board-related experience, and includes the
name of the candidate's mentor. Board members and search consultants can
search Women On Board Source to find board candidates who have the experience
and skills they are looking for.
"Women On Board Source is a good resource for boards and search firms because
it brings to their attention women who are strong board candidates who they
might not know or find on their own. If these women aren't already on their
radars, they should be," said Donald Lowry, President and CEO of EPCOR
Utilities, Chair of Canadian Oil Sands and Capital Power.
