Albemarle Fine Chemistry Services expands in Tyrone, Pennsylvania
BATON ROUGE, La., Dec. 10, 2012
BATON ROUGE, La., Dec. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Albemarle Corporation (NYSE:
ALB), a global developer, manufacturer and marketer of highly engineered
specialty chemicals and services, announced today that it has completed an
expansion at its Tyrone, Pennsylvania custom manufacturing facility. The
expansion, which doubles the capacity for a proprietary chemical product
manufactured for an Albemarle customer, began operation earlier in November
and is now operating at full rates.
"Executing this multi-million dollar expansion in less than one year allowed
our customer to capitalize on the growing demand for their product and the
construction effort had no impact on fulfilling the production needs of our
other customers," said David DeCuir, Director, Fine Chemistry Services.
"We are pleased to be able to rapidly expand production for this important
product for our long-term customer," said Randy Andrews, Tyrone plant site
manager. "The fact that we were able to successfully finish this project on
time and under budget shows the agility and focus on speed, quality and safety
that the Tyrone site is known for."
