DES MOINES, Iowa -- December 10, 2012

Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been selected by the State of Iowa following a
competitive bid process to replace its 35-year-old human services eligibility
system. The contract has a six-year base period that runs to 2018, with four
one-year extension options.

Accenture will implement the Human Services suite of products from Accenture
Software to support the state’s efforts to meet upcoming federal guidelines,
improve customer services, reduce technology costs and integrate eligibility
processes across a number of human service and health programs. The products
include the Accenture Public Service Platform, the Accenture Benefits
Management System and the Accenture Citizen Self-Service Portal.

“Iowa is seizing a great opportunity to build a more integrated eligibility
system, to better meet the needs of citizens. The system will improve program
integrity, increase productivity of staff and reduce long-term IT costs,” said
Julie Booth, Accenture’s managing director for human services for state, local
and provincial government in North America.

“The public sector is under pressure to find smarter ways to operate and
deliver services, and Accenture Software and this project is geared to meeting
that challenge,” said David McCurley, who leads Accenture’s public sector
software business.

The project will leverage a range of Accenture’s capabilities and expertise in
human services, including management consulting and systems integration, in
addition to the Accenture Software applications and framework.
