By doing so the company is expanding its offering along the civil engineering value chain, meaning that it will be able to better offer its customers solutions from a single source. In addition, Implenia is going to offer falsework construction in its European target markets. Falseworks are auxiliary structures that are needed for tasks such as shuttering and concreting when building concrete bridges. The technique brings benefits in terms of efficiency and sustainability. For example, special falsework structures make it possible to build bridges over heavily used motorways without stopping the traffic. To support this strategic focus, Implenia is acquiring the falsework unit of Robert Aebi AG, Switzerland's leading supplier of construction machinery, and in so doing is securing a targeted enhancement of its expertise and plant. Robert Aebi is selling the unit because it wants to focus on its core business. The falsework unit, with its five employees, who are being taken on by Implenia, has many years of experience and has been involved with a wide variety of challenging projects.
