HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- December 06, 2012

Hudson Valley businesses are continuing to benefit from Central Hudson’s
Business Lighting Upgrades, for which Lime Energy (NASDAQ: LIME) is the
exclusive implementer for the Mid-Hudson Valley. By offsetting the project
costs by up to 70 percent for upgrading their lights for qualified small and
medium sized business customers, Central Hudson is encouraging local companies
to waste less energy. In turn, businesses save up to 30 percent on their
monthly energy bill. Headquartered in Poughkeepsie, NY, Central Hudson Gas &
Electric Corporation serves approximately 300,000 electric and 75,000 natural
gas customers in portions of eight counties of New York State’s Mid-Hudson
River Valley.

“Central Hudson has helped more than 2,000 Hudson Valley businesses create a
brighter, more pleasant work environment,” said Brian Dimisko, Division
Manager of Energy Efficiency for Central Hudson. “New lighting options,
including light-emitting diode (LED) fixtures and outdoor lighting, now make
it possible for small and mid-sized businesses, office buildings and other
facilities to upgrade to more efficient lighting with little out-of-pocket
expense, and customers may cover their portion of the investment with a
convenient extended payment plan for 24 months, which is typically the time
the investment pays for itself.”

To date, participants together are lowering their electric bills by more than
$3.5 million per year and are avoiding 20,314 tons of greenhouse gas emissions
into the environment, realizing in total an estimated annual savings of more
than 38 million kilowatt-hours in electrical usage, or enough energy to power
4,697 homes for one year.

“We are glad to be helping our valued business customers realize financial
savings while making the Hudson Valley a more sustainable place to live,” said
