HUDSON, Mass. -- December 03, 2012

Hypertronics Corporation, a Smiths Interconnect business and world-leading
provider of high performance interconnect solutions for the most demanding
applications, welcomed United States Congresswoman Niki Tsongas
(D-Massachusetts) to its corporate headquarters in Hudson on November 27^th.

Congresswoman Tsongas is currently serving in her third term representing the
Fifth Congressional District of Massachusetts as a member of the U.S. House of
Representatives. She serves on the House Armed Services Committee where she
has a long history working to ensure that the equipment and protection needs
of the US military are fully addressed.

In addition, Tsongas has a track record of working in close concert with the
small business community on job growth and economic development. Prior to
being elected to congress, Tsongas raised a family, practiced law, and served
as Dean of Middlesex Community college, all in the Fifth District. Elected in
a special election in 2007, Congresswoman Tsongas is the first woman to serve
in Congress in 25 years, and she holds the same seat that was held three
decades earlier by her late husband, former Congressman, U.S. Senator and
presidential candidate Paul Tsongas.

With respect to local companies that have a competitive presence in the
Defense industry, Congresswoman Tsongas commented, “Hypertronics is one of
many innovative companies clustered throughout the Fifth District developing
state-of-the art products and services for our military. The unique synergy
existing in Massachusetts between our outstanding academic institutions,
military installations, innovative high-tech companies and industry experts
gives us an unmatched regional advantage that cannot be overlooked as we
closely scrutinize our military spending to identify what and where we can
afford cost savings while maintaining our national priorities. The creativity
of this company’s workforce is evident in the products they have developed,
which are incorporated into some of our nation’s most advanced technological

Vadim Radunsky, President of Hypertronics stated: “We were delighted to
welcome Congresswoman Tsongas to Hypertronics and to have the opportunity to
demonstrate our products and capabilities, particularly our defense related
products which help our armed forces and first responders keep us all safe. In
light of the United States ending its combat role in Iraq, and now being well
down the road in the drawn-down phase of its involvement in Afghanistan, we
were particularly interested in hearing the Congresswoman’s view on the
likelihood of defense spending cuts and how it could impact Hypertronics.”
