Intertek Signs New Contract in Nigeria Business Wire LONDON -- November 27, 2012 Intertek has signed a new contract to support The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) Conformity Assessment Programme, which aims to improve the quality and safety of goods being exported to Nigeria and protect its citizens from substandard and dangerous goods. The programme, which has been in place since 2005, was implemented to improve the quality and safety of goods being exported to Nigeria and to protect its citizens from substandard and dangerous goods. It requires that every consignment of regulated products being exported to Nigeria meets both international and local standards, and that exporters obtain a Certificate of Conformity which enables Customs clearance. Samples are also taken at the country of origin and the container duly sealed to prevent tampering and substitution of products to further strengthen the programme.
