TREASURY SHARES - TRANSFERS

In accordance with Listing  Rule 12.6.4, Anglo American  plc announces that  a 
total of 8,904  ordinary shares were  transferred from treasury  shares on  23 
November 2012 in respect of the Company's share plans.

 

Following the transfer, Anglo American plc has a total of 14,586,362  ordinary 
shares held in treasury and a total of 1,390,873,391 ordinary shares in issue,
excluding treasury shares.
