MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/21/12 -- NetBase, the
Enterprise Social Intelligence (ESI) Company, created the Holiday
Shopping Mood Meter to measure the feelings expressed on the social
web by shoppers about ten popular U.S. retailers: Walmart, Target,
Best Buy, Macy's, Amazon, Old Navy, The Home Depot, Sears, Toys R Us
and Kohl's.
"Holiday shoppers love a great deal, but flying blind to the mall can
lead to disaster," said Lisa Joy Rosner, CMO of NetBase. "We created
the Holiday Shopping Mood Meter to help consumers get a glimpse of
how retailers are stacking up before storming the crowd."
The Holiday Shopping Mood Meter is updated hourly and uses NetBase's
natural language processing (NLP) technology to measure positive and
negative sentiment expressed about the brands. The comment box will
be updated with top reasons for the rankings. The meter widget is
available now through 2013 for media to embed on their website. See
instructions below.
What is the Mood Meter?
The Holiday Shopping Mood Meter includes a
gauge, updated every hour, for 10 U.S. retailers that captures and
measures the feelings expressed by consumers online. Watch the
ranking change as the arrow for each brand moves between positive
(100) and negative (-100).
How does it measure mood?
NetBase analyzes each online mention about
the 10 retailers with technology that understands how humans speak --
profanity, slang and more! To learn more about the NetBase
