Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Part of Design-Build Team Selected as Best Value Bidder for $798 Million Dallas Horseshoe Project Business Wire DALLAS -- November 19, 2012 Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc., an industry-leading civil engineering contractor, has been selected by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) as part of a team to work with joint venture partner Fluor Corporation on a major design-build project in Dallas, Texas. The selection of the Pegasus Link Constructors LLC joint venture is estimated by TxDOT to be worth approximately $798 million. The scope of work calls for upgrading and replacing the I-30 and I-35E bridges that cross the Trinity River, building additional lanes, as well as constructing the previously designed Margaret McDermott bridges. The project is dubbed the “Horseshoe Project” due to its U-shape. TxDOT is utilizing design-build project delivery which will result in a shorter construction schedule and lower overall cost.
