Manhattan Associates Powers Happigo's Multi-Channel Retail Business SHANGHAI and ATLANTA, Nov. 19, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Global supply chain optimization provider, Manhattan Associates, Inc. (Nasdaq:MANH), today announced that Happigo, China's leading multimedia retailer specializing in televised home shopping, has chosen Manhattan Associates' Warehouse Management Solution (WMS) to optimize its warehouse operations and achieve a more efficient supply chain management to pave the way for its business expansion. Happigo is taking advantage of a consumer environment in China characterized by increased spending and a growing demand for convenience shopping. It promotes products via various media channels including TV, Internet, print and online catalogs, mobile devices and telephone. Tang Liang, executive vice president of Happigo, explained, "To effectively meet the expected growth in demand for the products we're selling, and because we're operating across an increasing number of channels, we realized we would need a highly intelligent supply chain system that would be capable of processing significantly higher volume throughputs and supporting our increasingly complex warehousing operations. After a competitive selection process, we chose Manhattan for its best-in-class WMS technology and because of its rich experience and excellent reputation working with the world's leading retailers." Manhattan's solution will be deployed in Happigo's two largest warehouses that have a combined storage area of 860,000 square feet. After three months of in-depth discussion and analysis, Manhattan Associates worked closely with Happigo to design a system configuration that would perfectly meet Happigo's business needs. The Manhattan Associates professional services team will lead the implementation and run a comprehensive training programme for Happigo's system users. The deployment is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2013. Tang Liang continued, "The deployment will enable us to boost efficiency within our warehousing operations by improving inventory and order fulfilment accuracy. Once the project is completed, we will have automated the entire picking, packing and shipping process." The new system will enable Happigo to manage its multi-channel distribution needs and help it respond quickly to shifting demand. It will help match inventory levels to changing order patterns as well as improve order discrepancy handling should customers change their minds about orders placed. Ultimately, all improvements made will speed up order delivery and bring an enhanced purchase experience that will strengthen customer loyalty. "We are highly impressed with Manhattan's solution. Its flexible nature and constant evolution as a supply chain technology platform will help us deliver on our long-term development goals," added Tang Liang. "This investment underlines our commitment to provide customers with a highly positive and consistent buying experience." About Manhattan Associates, Inc.
