EcoSys EPC Implemented by Tahoe Resources for Mining Project Cost
Management
Partnership Delivers Mining Project Control Best Practices
RYE BROOK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 11/12/12 -- EcoSys
(www.ecosys.net), provider of best-in-class enterprise planning and
cost controls software, today announced that its web-based project
cost management solution EcoSys EPC (Enterprise Planning & Controls)
has been implemented by Tahoe Resources Inc., a silver exploration
and development company. EcoSys EPC now serves as the project
controls platform including a central repository to aggregate data
for cost reporting and will provide budget change management.
Focused on becoming a leading producer of precious metals, Tahoe
Resources is using EcoSys EPC as it develops its world class Escobal
silver mine, which is responsible for creating 500 jobs in Southeast
Guatemala. Due to the mine's finite lifespan and large capital
expense requirements prior to silver production, finding a means of
effective cost controls became a necessity. EcoSys provides Tahoe
Resources with a single system to support budgeting, change
management, commitments tracking, reconciliation of actuals,
performance measurement and forecasting. EcoSys EPC allows program
managers and project controllers to manage earned value and
facilitates time-phasing of costs over the lifespan of the project.
Christen Bergerud, Executive VP at EcoSys, commented, "Tahoe
Resources's Escobal project needed a system to support cost control
best practices 'out of the box' but with the flexibility to meet its
specific requirements. Because Tahoe Resources is an international
company, this same system also needed the ability to support multiple
currencies that are regularly used in its operations. Tahoe Resources
found its solution in EcoSys EPC, which provides a scalable cost
controls system that is able to support multiple projects and
currencies, and that can provide full visibility into project
performance and automated report generation."
EcoSys EPC is a web-based solution designed to deliver best practices
for project cost management, portfolio management, capital planning,
budgeting and forecasting, funds management, resource management,
estimating, and earned value management. To obtain more details on
