NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --U.S.Steel Tubular Products, Inc.,
a subsidiary of United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X), announced that
Charles D. Davidson, chairman and chief executive officer of Noble Energy, is
the recipient of its Chief Roughneck Award for 2012. The announcement was
made today at the 83rd annual meeting of the Independent Petroleum Association
of America.

U.S.Steel Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Mario Longhi
presented Mr. Davidson with the traditional Chief Roughneck bronze bust and
hard hat. "Over the years, this award has honored individuals who have
pioneered continued growth and change in the energy industry," said Longhi.

Charles D. Davidson joined Noble Energy in October 2000 as chairman and CEO
after serving as chairman, president and CEO at Vastar Resources, Inc. A
member of the original executive team that formed Vastar in 1994, he
previously held a number of engineering, operations and executive positions at
ARCO. Active in numerous industry and trade organizations, Davidson is
currently serving as chairman of the Independent Petroleum Association of
America's Offshore Committee. He serves on the Board of the Gas Technology
Institute, on the Advisory Board of the University of Texas in Dallas, and
with several Houston-area community organizations. He is also a member of the
Society of Petroleum Engineers, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers
and the National Petroleum Council.

Mr. Davidson earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Purdue
University and a master's degree in management from the University of Texas in
Dallas.
