MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International
Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced several recent contract awards during
the current quarter, with a total value of approximately $242 million from its
government and commercial healthcare customers.

As healthcare providers look to technology for ways to improve the quality of
care and drive efficiencies across business and healthcare systems, SAIC is
executing a multi-pronged health solutions strategy to bolster business growth
across its Federal and commercial customer base through the recent
acquisitions of maxIT Healthcare and Vitalize Consulting Solutions (VCS).
Working with its subsidiary companies VCS and maxIT Healthcare, healthcare
business accelerated significantly in the third quarter of FY13. New
contracts and work orders range from implementing electronic health record
(EHR) products and systems for commercial healthcare providers, to a number of
new federal programs in health information technology, life sciences, and
behavioral health services.

"This has been an important quarter for our health solutions team, as we work
to unify our commercial healthcare teams and leverage their skills across both
the commercial and federal markets," said SAIC Senior Vice President and
Health Solutions Business Unit General Manager Steve Comber. "We are pleased
to continue supporting all of our customers in both markets, whether it's
helping to implement EHRs at hospitals to maximize efficiencies, or using
health analytics and other solutions to enhance the health and deployment
readiness of our military personnel around the world."
