Diluted ADS; and Non-GAAP EPS to be Between 7.6 to 9.1 Cents Per Diluted ADS

TAINAN, Taiwan, Nov. 8, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Himax Technologies, Inc.
(Nasdaq:HIMX) ("Himax" or "Company"), a leading supplier and fabless
manufacturer of display drivers and other semiconductor products, today issued
financial forecasts for the fourth quarter and full-year ending December 31,

Based on information available to the Company as of November 8, 2012, Himax is
projecting the following for the three months ending December 31, 2012:

Net Revenues:       To be around flat or slightly down, as compared to the
                    third quarter of 2012
Gross Margin:      To be around flat from the third quarter of 2012,
                    depending upon final product mix
GAAP EPS:          7.0 to 8.5 cents per diluted ADS, as compared to 2.1 cents
                    of the same period 2011
Non GAAP EPS ^ (2): 7.6 to 9.1 cents per diluted ADS, as compared to 2.5 cents
                    of the same period 2011

And for the full Year 2012:

Net Revenues:      To be around $737.1 million, up around 16.4%
Gross Margin:      To be around 23.1%, as compared to 19.8% of 2011
GAAP EPS ^(1):     28.6 to 30.1 cents per diluted ADS, as compared to 6.1
                    cents of 2011
Non GAAP EPS ^ (2): 33.7 to 35.2 cents per diluted ADS, as compared to 10.3
                    cents of 2011

^(1) GAAP earnings per diluted ADS guidance includes Himax's 2012 grant of
restricted share units, or RSUs, at the end of September 2012
