                             Can Do For LA Tech”

LOS ANGELES -- November 06, 2012

The Silicon Beach Fest announced that Eric Garcetti, LA City Councilmember and
Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate, will speak at its conference opening forum
entitled “What LA City Can Do For LA Tech” on November 9, 2012 at io/LA in
Hollywood. This marks the first time that a LA mayoral candidate has hosted a
forum asking LA’s burgeoning startup community how the City of Los Angeles can
help support and nurture entrepreneurs.

Los Angeles has seen a dramatic increase in startup and investment activity in
the last year. The name "Silicon Beach" has been attached to the areas of
Santa Monica, Venice, and now other parts of the city, including Hollywood,
Downtown, and Pasadena. Garcetti has long supported digital and technology
initiatives in Los Angeles.

“We’re excited that Eric is joining us for this forum to hear directly from
entrepreneurs,” said Kevin Winston, Silicon Beach Fest director and founder of
networking group Digital LA, which produces the Silicon Beach Fest.

Garcetti joins the Silicon Beach Fest lineup, which uniquely combines
investors, venture capitalists and entertainment content creators in movies,
film, music and games. For example, the headliner “What Accelerators Want”
panel features the co-founders and directors of LA’s top accelerators, which
provide initial funding for startups. Panelists include StartEngine co-founder
Howard Marks, MuckerLab co-founder William Hsu, io/LA’s Aber Whitcomb,
Amplify’s Jeff Solomon, and Launchpad’s Adam Lilling.

The theme of Silicon Beach Fest Hollywood is Hollywood-appropriate: Pitching.
After each panel, select attendees can pitch the panelists on their startup,
web series, film, app, and other ideas.
