DataQuill’s Fifth US Patent Issues DataQuill also announced today that the United States Patent & Trademark Office has issued the company U.S. Patent No. 8,290,538. In addition to new claims covering aspects of smartphones, the new patent also includes claims that cover tablets and similar computing devices. The USPTO action is the latest affirmation of the validity of DataQuill’s inventions. Patents in the portfolio have repeatedly survived USPTO reexamination proceedings and litigation challenges around the world and have now been licensed to more than 10 major high-technology companies.
