"An SME can spend years trying to organize a meeting with a buyer. During the
6th edition of STIQ's Buyer/Supplier Day, they can meet with as many as twelve
in a single day!" - Normand Voyer, Executive Vice-President, STIQ
MONTREAL, Oct. 16, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - More than 500 business meetings are
expected to take place today between 24 integrators/OEMs and 140 small and
medium-sized Québec manufacturing firms at the 6th edition of the
Buyer/Supplier Day, a record number for the event organizer, Sous-Traitance
Industrielle Québec (STIQ).
These B2B meetings have been rigorously planned using a unique software that
enables STIQ to match procurement needs with the expertise offered by
participating SMEs. Thus, everyone benefits from useful meetings and the few
minutes of exchange facilitated by this "business speed dating" initiative
will be sufficient to ascertain any mutual interest.
"Alone, SMEs can spend years trying to organize a meeting with a buyer,"
explains STIQ Executive Vice-President Normand Voyer. "STIQ gives them the
opportunity to directly showcase their expertise to buyers from a multitude of
large Québec and international companies — all in a single day! In this
way, these integrators/OEMs discover qualified suppliers that they would
perhaps never have thought of, and new partnerships are often forged during
this initial contact."
As a result of its continuous business development efforts, STIQ is, once
again this year, hosting world-class buyers representing a variety of
